Summer's End
Summers end, Well here it is,
Here come the rain and autumn leaves.
It’s back to school the children go,
with schoolbags full and parents in tow.
The days they shorten, the nights grow long,
the birds they sing a different song.
Having said goodbye to their friend the swallow,
knowing surely now that winter follows.
We bid farewell to the brighter mornings,
But now’s not the time for sorrowful mourning.
We’ll enjoy the beauty the winter will bring
And look forward, with hope, the advent of spring.
